It is a local farmer’s market in Kent, OH. LGTC started attending in Spring 2021 to promote the raffle, create connections with the community, and educate people about our nonprofit.
This program focuses on reducing waste in Kent city schools while promoting healthier eating and education. With this program, our volunteers teach kids how to divide their food scraps so they can learn and create compost.
Power of Produce or PoP is an educational program that motivates children up to age 12 to try fresh and local produce at the Haymaker Farmers' market by offering them food and monetary incentives.
Let’s Grow Together Coalition hosts a raffle fundraiser. There are a variety of raffle baskets to choose from that will include select items donated by local businesses. This event help us to collect money for future projects and work towards improving our garden. We ask local businesses, for donations of gift cards, events tickets, and other supplies. These elements are put in a raffle for the families and individuals who support us by purchasing tickets. It is important to note that any item, gift cards, or funds donated from businesses or community members are used strictly for achieving goals in the garden.
In the past, we collected plastic caps to create recicled benches for our garden. We already turned in our collection and will not be collecting more plastic bottle caps. Thanks to everyone that helped us with this project and please inform us if you find out about a new cap collection site in Northeast Ohio.
